Random Thoughts on a Thursday Morning

Yesterday marked the 50th anniversary of the first game that the Mets played on April 11, 1962.  I remember watching the game on TV with my dad as the Mets lost to the St. Louis Cardinals 11-4.  Roger Craig who started tat game in 1962 threw out the first pitch in yesterday's game.  I read that 29 out of the 45 1962 Mets are still living.

It is very tragic when anyone is murdered.  Sadly there are thousands of killings in the United States every year.  The death of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman is very tragic, but why all the media coverage?  Does the media report or create the news?  It seems that this murder is getting as much attention as the OJ Simpson case in the 1990s.

Today is the 49th anniversary of Bob Dylan's first solo concert at Town Hall.  I was not there.
Off to work in an hour or so.
