The Torturous Trials of the Idle Juror

I suggest that my readers check out this article in the Metropolitan section of today's New York Times.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/03/nyregion/03critic.html?_r=1&ref=city_critic

The author was only at jury duty for 2 days.  Day #7 is tomorrow for me.

Here is a quote from the article written by Ariel Kaminer

"Years ago, a study found that 82 percent of New Yorkers summoned to jury duty were not chosen for a trial, a situation Judith Kaye, who was then the state’s chief judge, described in 2003 as a “colossal waste of time and money.” "

I am one of the 18 percent chosen to serve on a jury.  I just I am a rare person who has served 6 times in my life time.  More tomorrow.
