WYNY at 103.5 was the last New York City radio station to play country music. In early 1996 it became WKTU. There were 4 suburban stations at 107.1 FM that played country music from 1998 to 2003, but there was a very weak signal into Queens. I must get a weekly dose of Country music on the radio. Right now I am listening to Willies Place on Sirius/XM. I can also get country music on WLTW-HD2 and on numerous internet streams including terrestrial stations from other cities. There was an announcement today that there will be a new country music stream suited to NYC called the Elephant on WORCountry. I will have to check it out.
