Tim McCarver was Also a Singer

After Tim McCarver passed away a few days ago, he was praised for his career as a catcher for the Phillies and Cardinals and as a broadcaster of Major League Baseball games.  This afternoon as I was listening to Don McGee's Mixed Bag show on WFUV I heard the song There Used to Be a Ball Park.  This song was made popular by Frank Sinatra, but I didn't recognize the voice.  It turned out to be Tim McCarver.  In 2009 he recorded an album titled Tim McCarver Sings Selections from the Great American Songbook.

You learn something new every day.
