Bob Dylan spent four days in a Poughkeepsie opera hall last week rehearsing for an album he'll record this week in New York.

Dylan spent about four hours a day writing and rehearsing at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House.

Bardavon Executive Director Chris Silva got to watch the sessions. He called them, "experimental."

Silva said he's been trying for 12 years to get Dylan to play at the Bardavon. He said Dylan was enthusiastic about coming back for a concert.

Dylan is a former Woodstock resident.

This is the best musical news I've heard in a long time.  When do you think the album will hit the shelves?  Today's music scene is bleek.  Did you see that American Idol destroyed the Grammys in the ratings?  A chilling sign.
