Mets Lose 7-2 in 10 Innings to the Giants as Edwin Diaz Blows Another Save

The Mets have lost five games in a row and 10 out of the last 12.  Starting pitcher Luis Severino held the Giants to one run and two hits in seven innings.  Home runs by Starlin Marte and Brett Baty gave the Mets and 2-1 lead going into the ninth inning.  Closer Edwin Diaz was brought in to close the door on the Giants, but he failed. Wilmer Flores singled on Díaz’s first pitch. Ryan McKenna pinch-ran for Flores and stole second with one out before Lamonte Wade singled to right to tie the game.  That was Diaz's fourth blown save.

Mike Yastrzemski capped a five-run 10th inning with a three-run triple as the Giants earned a 7-2 win over the skidding Mets.

We usually don't go to Saturday games, but we picked this game after one of the games in our plan was rained out earlier this season.  I picked the wrong game.
