Dr. Vitaut Kipel, a renowned scholar of Byelorussians in America, passed away at age 95. Until 1985 he was Assistant Chief of the York Public Library Science and Technology Division. He hired me as a reference librarian in 1983. I wrote a tribute to him in 2013 in my companion blog devoted to professional library issues. His obituary may be found at My Central Jersey.
