Bruce's Journal

Bruce Slutsky was born in New York City in 1949. I retired 8 years ago after working as a Science/Engineering Librarian at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark for 25 years. I was married to Karen until she passed away in February 2021. I have a son Lee who is now 37 years old. I am very much interested in the popular music of the 1960s, especially Bob Dylan and the Beatles. I am interested in rock and roll radio. I am an enthusiastic fan of the New York Mets.

Whitney Museum, Highline and the 34th Street Hudson Yards Subway Station

Since this is a staycation week Karen and I made it downtown for our annual visit to the Whitney Museum now located in the "meatpacking district." We saw the following exhibits:

Danny Lyon - Message to the Future
Human Interest - Portraits from the Whitney Collection
Mirror Cells
Virginia Overton - Sculpture Gardens
Sophia Al-Mara - Black Friday

When we left the museum we walked along the Highline to 34th Street by the Javits Center. We found the new 34th Street Hudson Yards stop on the #7 line. I must say it is very far underground. From there we went home.
