Queens Museum of Art

If you read this journal's entry for April 28, 2007 you will see that we went to the Queens Musuem and went on a tour of the sites from the 1964-5 World's Fair.  We stopped by the New York State Pavillion where we were shown the poor condition of the floor which had a Texaco map of New York State.  The tour guide told us that there was an iniitative to restore that map.  Today the Queems Museum had an exhibit where they showed us how the map is being preserved.  For futher information, you can go to

It's been so long since I've read your blog, so I have a few comments to make.  Dave and I were married in 63, and when we came back east in 64(he was still at seminary in St.Paul), we visited the NY World's Fair and still have some good memories of it. However, at that age, one thinks they will remember every single detail. . .and I don't. Now I wish I had kept a journal of all we saw and experienced!  I do remember it was the first place I tried eating an artichoke! It was ok, but nothing special to my taste buds.
Happy Birthday, Lee!
