Bruce Slutsky was born in New York City in 1949. I retired six years ago after working as a Science/Engineering Librarian at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark for 25 years. I was married to Karen until she passed away in February 2021. I have a son Lee who is now 35 years old. I am very much interested in the popular music of the 1960s, especially Bob Dylan and the Beatles. I am interested in rock and roll radio. I am an enthusiastic fan of the New York Mets.

Will Buck Showalter Bring a World Series Victory to Citi Field?

When Steve Cohen purchased the Mets he stated the Mets would win the World Series within 5 years. I think he made a good move by hiring Buck Showalter as Manager. He has had some significant accomplishments in his managerial career.

With the Yankees, Showalter ended a 14-year playoff drought
With the Orioles, he ended a 15-year drought.
With the Diamondbacks, he led them to the playoffs in just their second season.
He won the Manager of the Year Award in 1994, 2014, and 2014

The Mets made some significant moves in the off-season before the lock-out and will likely make more transactions once there is a new collective bargaining agreement. Steve Cohen is certainly willing to spend money, so let's hope Buck will bring a World Series victory to Citi Field in the near future.
