$4.10 for a gallon of gas!

Since I use public transportation to get to work during the week, I generally use my car only on weekends.  On the way home from visiting my mother in Westbury, I stopped for gas and had to pay $4.10/gallon.  I must presume tht the unsettled political situation in the middle east has caused prices to rise.  In the months to come the prices will likely go up more since the demand for gasoline increases in the summer.  I believe the gas prices were the highest during the summer of 2007 when I once paid $4.50 a gallon.

Back when I started driving in the late 1960s the price of gas was 35 cents a gallon.  People my age can remember the lines for gas in 1973, 74 and 79.
