The CD Player Finally Died - I Replaced it with a Boombox

In February 2016, I reported in this journal that I purchased a Sony CD player capable of playing 5 CDs consecutively.  Over the 9 1/2 years that I owned it, I used it quite often.  On most evenings, I listened to music while I ate dinner. It must have played hundreds if not thousands, of CDs over the years.  Finally, it just conked out.  No product, especially one with moving parts, lasts forever.

I saw used Sony CD players for sale on eBay, but I decided not to buy one.  You never know how long a used product will last.  Since I rarely play more than one CD at a time, I decided to purchase a boombox instead.

This Phillips boombox also has a cassette tape player.  I saw on the TV news that cassettes are making a comeback.  Maybe I should play some of the radio tapes that I made decades ago.
