Today was the last day of the WFUV fundraising drive and the first for WBGO. As an incentive for listeners to make donations on the first day, the anyone who contributes today is entered in a contest to host one hour on the station. If I win, my hour will be devoted to jazz flavored covers of Bob Dylan songs. On Dylan's New Morning album there was a song "If Dogs Run Free" which in my memory is the only Dylan recording that can be classified as jazz. There was even some scat singing in it. I think my chances of winning this contest are better than my appearing on Jeopardy. I suggest to my radio friends that they check out this fine radio station and if they like it, support it financially.Bruce Slutsky was born in New York City in 1949. I retired 8 years ago after working as a Science/Engineering Librarian at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark for 25 years. I was married to Karen until she passed away in February 2021. I have a son Lee who is now 37 years old. I am very much interested in the popular music of the 1960s, especially Bob Dylan and the Beatles. I am interested in rock and roll radio. I am an enthusiastic fan of the New York Mets.
