Opening Day - Yankees Lose at Home While Mets Win on the Road

The Yankee game began at 1 PM while I was at work, so I couldn't pay much attention to it.  The reports said that Alex Rodriguez got a good hand as he played his first game back from a year long suspension.  Masahiro Tanaka was ineffective for the Yankees as they lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1.

Game Recap

At age 41 Bartolo Colon was the oldest opening day starting pitcher in Mets history, but he did win 15 games for them last season.  He did pitch effectively for 6 innings and was helped by two errors by the Washington Nationals.  The Mets won 3-1 but I am concerned since Jenrry Mejia could not close because of elbow stiffness and pain.  Buddy Carlyle got his first career save at age 37.  The Mets are now 34-19 in opening days in their 53 year history.
