Priscilla Queen of the Desert

Every October Karen and I go to see a Broadway show to celebrate our anniversary (it is tomorrow).  This year we chose Priscilla Queen of the Desert which was in part produced by Bette Midler.  In the show two drag queens and a transexual get a gig in the middle of the desert when their bus breaks down.  The sets and the costumes were absolutely beautiful.  There was some very familar music featured including:
  • What's Love Got to Do With It
  • I Say a Little Prayer
  • Material Girl
  • True Colors
  • Colour My World
  • Thank God I'm a Country boy
  • MacArthur Park
I highly recommend this show.  After the show we went to dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner with its singing waiters and waitresses.  The first time I was at Ellen's was on June 3, 2006 at a Meet and Greet of oldies radio enthusiasts on the first anniversary of the hijacking of WCBS-FM.

On the advice of early audience, the film was edited and scene such as Adam's priscilla queen of the desert tickets flashback regarding his paedophilic uncle were abridged down.
