There is still the constant threat of terrorism in the world

A hearty congratulations to the special forces who killed Osama Bin Ladin in Pakistan.  Kudos to all of thiose who have tried to kill or capture him since September 11, 2001.  It really shows that perserverance pays off.  The details may be found in the New York Times.  At least justice has been served by taking this low life off the planet earth.

We should not let down our guard after this significant development.  There can be retaliation by al-Qaeda operatives anywhere in the world.  The following terrorist acts were done by only a few misfits:
  • The 1993 World Trade Center attack
  • The failed car bomb in Times Square
  • The Oklahoma City bombing
Every day as I walk through Penn Station I see National Guardsmen with high powered rifles.  This is a reminder of the constant threat of terrorism.
