This afternoon I wanted to listen to the Breeze which can be heard at 107.1 FM in Long Branch, NJ and 99.7 FM further down the Jersey Shore. When I accessed http://breezeradio.com there was announcement that morning personality Mike Fitzgerald had sufferred a minor heart attack and was now resting at home. He is expected to return to the airwaves in about two weeks. I certainly wish Mike a full and speedy recovery.
Mike had worked for many years at WCBS-FM. He started out doing evenings but was moved to morning drive later on. From January to June of 2005 he co-hosted the morning show with Mickie Dolenz. He was let go from WCBS-FM as a result of the hijacking of June 3, 2005. He landed on his feet some months later by getting a gig on the Breeze.
