Bruce's Journal

Bruce Slutsky was born in New York City in 1949. I retired six years ago after working as a Science/Engineering Librarian at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark for 25 years. I was married to Karen until she passed away in February 2021. I have a son Lee who is now 35 years old. I am very much interested in the popular music of the 1960s, especially Bob Dylan and the Beatles. I am interested in rock and roll radio. I am an enthusiastic fan of the New York Mets.

The Wright Stuff

Lee got 2 free tickets to a Mets game since he belongs to the Mets Fan Club for Kids. Karen was working today as a substitute school aide and I am still on vacation so the tables were turned and I went to the game with Lee. David Wright hit two two-run home runs as the Mets beat the Cincinati Reds 6-2. Pedro Martinez started the game and was the winning pitcher. I think we will have some post season baseball in Flushing this year.

Anonymous said...: This Wednesday, Pedro comes back to Fenway for the first team since leaving the 2004 World Champions, Boston Red Sox. It will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to him. It should be a great game with Josh Beckett on the bump for the Sox. Hope I get to see it. Wednesdays are softball night for me so if it's on ESPN (it better be!)
